Innovative technology combined with the beauty industry has produced a list of outstanding start-ups that are pioneering the world of beauty and cosmetics. We analyzed the landscape of more than a thousand beautytech start-ups around the world with a majority operating in Europe (45%), Asia (29%), and Americas (22%). Various solutions for the skin dominate the landscape (76%), followed by the products for wellness, health, and hair, but also based on the advances in biotechnology as well as targeting the luxury sector.
The analysis is also focused on the beautytech start-ups’ maturity stage, team size and gender composition, as well as business models, which helps to provide a holistic picture on the development and business orientation of the start-ups in the industry.
Finally, we illustrate the patents and the relationships of beautytech start-ups with various actors in their ecosystem, including investors, incubators and accelerators, but also partners, clusters, grants and awards.
