For the International Women’s Day, we provide an overview of start-ups created and/or managed by women. The focus is on the geographic distribution of these start-ups over the world, the evolution of female entrepreneurship over time, and the sectorial diversity of women-led start-ups.
The analytics shows an upward trend of female entrepreneurship over time. The percentage of start-ups owned/managed by women has doubled since 2010. The industrial analysis of start-ups revealed which sectors are more commonly selected by women entrepreneurs. They include fashion, beauty, and care industries, as well as e-commerce and wellness, while finance and media industries are less represented.
