New technologies have been transforming the transportation sector over the past years. The infographics shows the evolution of different technologies such as AI, IoT, sensor, platform, apptech, and energytech, used by transportation start-ups founded between 2015 and 2021. Apptech remains the most dominant technology at present, but the number of start-ups has dropped considerably to represent only 4% in 2021. The most significant development concerns the energy-related technologies, which account for 40% of transport start-ups in 2021, compared to 10% in 2015. AI technology in the transportation industry is growing over the past years and is used by 28% of start-ups created in 2021 .
